Loss of Hser Ner Moo - In Loving Memory of All Utah Child Victims Of Community Violence

I am sorry for the loss of many good people in our community. These loved ones which have been victims of senseless violence. The ongoing scouge of gangs and drugs. My heart is also with those killed due to senseless acts of brutality and violence.

My heart felt sorrow goes out to all victims, their families, and to the many young people accused of their murders, and incarcerated due to having murdered or attempted to murder other children.

A little Angel was taken from all of us in the (non gang related) murder of Hser Nay Moo, she was befriended in her South Salt Lake City apartment community, violenty assualted and later killed. I will never forget your face, I will never forget your courage to fight back, I will never forget the look on your father and brothers faces when I worked at your street side memorial.
I will never forget the little girl who helped me fill pink luminary candles with sand from the childrens play box, sand they had played with as well as the sheer horror on the little girls face that such hatred and violence could have killed the little angel. I will never forget the empty stares filled with pain shown by the family. The children of the apartment community trying to comprehend what had occured.

Little innocent angel, you are never lost as long as you are remembered for all the good things that you did while still alive. You and the rest of the children killed by violence will be forever in my heart and mind guiding me to help better our neighborhoods. At age 7 you were too young to loose your life that way, but your inspiration lives on! Your angel spirit is powerful in our community.

My life was changed and my goals were prioritized because of your tragic life.I saw the beauty and the humanity of people who came together from all over, in your honor.I saw the need to improve our communities and overcome poverty, gangs, and violence in them.
